    Colonel By Statue
    Located in the middle of Major's Hill Park, this statue commemorates Colonel By, an engineer who was responsible for building the Rideau Canal. By’s residence was located on the site of what is now the park and the park was originally named after By when it was established in 1874.

    Peacekeeping Monument
    The Peacekeeping Monument was built to honour the thousands of Canadians who have served in the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces. Over 80,000 Canadians have travelled all over the world to dangerous regions in attempt to keep order and restore peace.

    Garden of the Provinces
    These aptly named gardens commemorate the Confederation of Canada's ten provinces as well as the territories. The gardens feature flags, bronze plaques, a fountain and two historic chuches. Located across from the National Library and National Archives. Open daily, 24 hours.

    The National War Memorial

    Located in Confederation Square, The National War Memorial stands proud in Ottawa's downtown. Standing 21 metres, it represents all the Canadians who served their country. The memorial, made of granite and featuring bronze figures of Peace and Freedom, is impressive.
