To celebrate, visitors and locals alike tour the beds of bright flowers throughout the city and Major's Hill Park hosts dozens of concerts. History buffs may want to see one bed of tulips in particular. Since the end of the Second World War the Dutch government has sent bulbs in appreciation for Canada's wartime efforts. Some of the flowers now bloom at Commissioners Park.
